Going up in the vast area of the excavations of Pompeii through the impressive entrance of Porta Marina, we will face an incomparable scenery..an entire city with its streets, squares and houses, estate and suspended in time, as it had never been destroyed.

But Pompeii was buried by the terrible eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD and remained buried for many centuries before being rediscovered and excavated by archaeologists, but now this world heritage is returned to us all.

Arriving in the Forum, the main town square, you can admire the monumental buildings where the public life took place and you will feel like going back to 2000 years ago. If you stop for a while you can meet one of the many famous and docile dogs that now inhabit the area of the diggings, which probably will remain with you during the rest of the visit.

The finest way to see Pompeii is to get lost in the streets and discover its secrets. Walking into a house and being surprised by the beautiful paintings that adorned it, admire the interior gardens, colonnades lined by the ancient dining rooms, the couches, where the ancient inhabitants ate lying on the beds. You can visit the great spas, the shops facing the road and behind the counters imagine sellers that attract the attention of passersby, just as happens in our markets.

Descending from the Forum, after a while we will face the great theater, recently renovated and under the shade of trees, the Triangular Forum, one of the oldest parts of the city. There you can sit and admire all these marvels and impress the memory of the visit. In summer when the temperature is hot, you can also visit the ruins at night under the stars, when Pompeii became quieter and more romantic.

In the evening, once you leave, you can eat a real pizza in one of the many places opened in the modern city and enjoy the fantastic cakes to pastries Campania De Vivo, walking still wrapped in the magic of a timeless city.
