Surrounded by the Alps and by the hills of the River Pò, Turin is nestled in a beautiful natural landscape. It is a city rich in history and culture, and it still preserves the Roman road system, restored by the Savoy family. Long arcades line skirt the downtown streets, in which there are some old Coffee Bar; the Mole Antonelliana, symbol of the city and Italy's highest building stands only a few steps far from the spectacular Piazza Castello, in which overlooks the Royal Palace of Savoy, with its gardens of opened to visitors.
Today the Mole is not simply a place from which it is possible to observe the landscape, but the National Museum of Cinema. The visit is fun and allows you to interact with the pieces that are exhibited, such as the "Magic lanterns" the first experiments of the camera; in the main hall there is also the possibility of lying on lounge chairs provided of headphones to watch old movies or see the reconstructions of some environments of the most famous films of recent decades.
Do not miss the Egyptian Museum, which is really easy to reach from the historical centre. It is the most important museum in the world after the one of Cairo, inside it there is a vastness of ancient artifacts: statues, tombs, papyri, which will allow visitors to discover this ancient and mysterious civilization.
A fascinating and less known aspect of the city, but that surely will attract the most curious is that relating to the magic ... in fact Turin is considered to be one of the vertices of the triangle of white magic and of black magic. And in a few days of the week it is possible, in the evening of course, to take part to a shemed tour of the many mysterious symbols that are scattered around the city streets.
Turin is ideal both during the summer and in winter, this city offers so many possibilities to its visitors, whether for entertainment, both in culture and history. We cannot forget that in Turin was born the Italy's largest carmaker business, which great symbol today is the Lingotto, renovated by the architet Renzo Piano and symbol of the industrial archeology in Italy.
