Cropani, built around 800 AD, as told by the famous historian native John Fiore, is dotted with many archaeological sites ranging from the Middle Neolithic and the phase of late antiquity, ie prior to the birth of the village of Cropani.
Among the most important of the Greek Sanctuary Water Friso (end of VII - V sec. AC), remains of a Roman villa rustica, and two sites Late Antiquity. The interesting finds can be seen in the Antiquarium Municipal Cropani.
